The Global Law Thinkers Society (GLTS) and Lumbini World Peace Forum together launched the Nepal-Bangladesh tree-plantation movement on September 3, 2022 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, under the theme “Green War, Green is Freedom” to combat climate change.

Lumbini World Peace Forum and GLTS tied up to ensure the youth engagement of the two countries work together to promote sustainable development through the global initiative “Guardian of the Earth.” This initiative set remarkable spirit in pursuing joint-momentum regionally through cross-border tree plantations drive stretching from the coastal lines of Bay of Bengal to the lap of Himalayas.

The global, multi professional networking and leadership Platform GLTS is developing youth leadership to establish peace, ensure financial freedom for youth and end poverty, and build a green world. On that social commitment GLTS Founder Raoman Smita and Lumbini World Peace Forum Founder and GLTS Country leader Basu Gautam agreed to sign MOU for building a better world.

On this occasion, General Secretary Ahsanul Alam John, Deputy Director Mahir Daiyan, Kuldeep Bandhu Aryal Social Innovation Fellow at BRAC Social Innovation Lab, other GLTS officials and green armies from GLTS wing Green United Nations(GUN) were present in the program.

The event started with an aesthetic opening ceremony. Later, GLTS Leaders from Bangladesh and Nepal jointly announced the detailed activities.

In the inauguration ceremony President Raoman Smita said, “Climate change is a global problem. To mitigate this issue all the countries of the world must come forward. The role and leadership of youth in climate change must be ensured. Joining hands for planting trees together in Nepal and Bangladesh will set an example for the youth of other countries.”

Nepal Leader Basu Gautam stated, “Trees have no borders; they are the sole way for all nations and all people on the planet.”

General Secretary John said,” Young people have always played the biggest role in world crisis. We will be able to combat climate change with the young people of Bangladesh and the entire world through GLTS initiatives.”

Deputy Director Mahir Daiyan stated, “Trees are the only resource for combating climate change.”

After the tree planting’s inauguration, a two-hour bilateral meeting was conducted in which they explored how to organize leadership-building events for young people. And the Lumbini World Peace Forum and GLTS signed an MoU to ensure that Nepalese youth take part in the Guardian of the Earth program till 2030.

জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মোকাবিলায় নেপাল-বাংলাদেশের একযোগে বৃক্ষরোপণ অভিযানের ঘোষণা।

৩ সেপ্টেম্বর, ২০২২ বিকালে গ্লোবাল ল’ থিংকার্স সোসাইটি (জিএলটিএস) কর্তৃক জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মোকাবিলায় নেপাল-বাংলাদেশের একযোগে বৃক্ষরোপণ অভিযানের কার্যক্রমের উদ্বোধন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। টেকসই উন্নয়ন রক্ষায় “গার্ডিয়ান অব দি আর্থ” নামে একটি আন্তর্জাতিক প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে দুই দেশের তরুণদের ভূমিকা নিশ্চিত করতে একযোগে কাজের পরিকল্পনা হাতে নেয়া হয়েছে। 

গ্লোবাল ল’ থিংকার্স সোসাইটি(জিএলটিএস) একটি বিশ্ব রেকর্ড ধারী দাতব্য, অলাভজনক, অরাজনৈতিক, স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সামাজিক আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা যা তরুণদের নেতৃত্ব তৈরি করছে শান্তি রক্ষা, অর্থনৈতিক মুক্তি ও সবুজ বিশ্ব গড়তে।

উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে জিএলটিএস এর প্রেসিডেন্ট রাওমান স্মিতা, জেনারেল সেক্রেটারি আহসানুল আলম ,ডেপুটি ডিরেক্টর মাহির দাইয়ান, জিএলটিএস নেপাল কান্ট্রি-লিডার ও লুম্বিনি ওয়ার্ল্ড পিস ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রেসিডেন্ট গৌতম বাসু , সোশ্যাল ইনোভেশন ফেলো এট ব্র‍্যাক সোশ্যাল ইনোভেশন ল্যাব এর কুলদীপ বান্ধু আরিয়াল ও অন্যান্য কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ এবং জিএলটিএস এর সহ-প্রতিষ্ঠান গ্রিন ইউনাইটেড নেশনস এর কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। 

নান্দনিক উদ্ভোধনী আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠানটি শুরু হয়। পরবর্তীতে নেপাল জিএলটিএস লিডারগন ও জিএলটিএস সেন্ট্রাল লিডাদদের একযোগে এই কার্যক্রমের ঘোষনা দেন ।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রেসিডেন্ট রাওমান স্মিতা  বলেন, “জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন একটি বৈশ্বিক সমস্যা। এই সমস্যা মোকাবেলা করতে বিশ্বের সব দেশকেই এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনে তরুণদের ভূমিকা ও নেতৃত্ব নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। নেপাল ও বাংলাদেশের একযোগে গাছ লাগানো ও তরুণদের জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মোকাবেলায় হাত মেলানো অন্য সব দেশের তরুণদের জন্য একটি দৃষ্টান্ত তৈরি করবে।”

জেনারেল সেক্রেটারি আহসানুল আলম জন বলেন, “বিশ্ব সঙ্কটে সবসময় তরুণরাই সবচেয়ে বেশি ভূমিকা রেখেছে। এবারও জিএলটিএসের কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশসহ বিশ্বের সকল তরুণকে নিয়ে আমরা জলুবায়ু পরিবর্তন মোকাবেলা করতে সক্ষম হব।” ডেপুটি ডাইরেক্টর মাহির দাইয়ান বলেন, ” জলবায়ু জনিত পরিবর্তন মোকাবিলায়  বৃক্ষই একমাত্র সহায়ক”। লুম্বিনি ওয়ার্ল্ড ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রেসিডেন্ট এবং জিএলটিএস নেপাল লিডার বাসু গৌতম বলেন, “ বৃক্ষের কোনো সীমানা নেই, গাছই একমাত্র মাধ্যম যা পৃথিবীর সব জাতি, সব মানুষের জন্য  ”।

বৃক্ষ রোপণ উদ্ভোদনের পর ২ ঘন্টার একটি দ্বিপাক্ষিক মিটিং অনুষ্ঠিত হয় যেখানে সবুজ পৃথিবী ও শান্তি রক্ষায় একসাথে তরুণ নেতৃত্ব গঠনে কিভাবে কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করা যায় সে ব্যাপারে আলোচনা হয়। এবং জিএলটিএস এর ২০৩০ অব্দি ঘোষিত গার্ডিয়ান অব দি আর্থ অনুষ্ঠানে নেপালের তরুণদের অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত করতে লুমবিনি ওয়ার্ল্ড পিস ফোরামের মধ্যে একটি চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরিত হয়।
